AAC Consultation & Communication Access

Because everyone deserves to be understood—especially in the moments that matter most.

There are moments that most people never think twice about.

  • Asking for help.

  • Finding the bathroom.

  • Saying “I’m overwhelmed.”

  • Telling someone where you need to go.

For many individuals—especially those with communication differences—those moments are not simple. They can be isolating. Overwhelming. And sometimes, unsafe

What We See Every Day

As a speech-language pathologist specializing in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), I work with children and individuals who have something to say, but don’t always have an accessible way to say it.

I’ve seen:

  • A child shut down in a public space because they couldn’t ask for help

  • A family leave an experience early because communication broke down

  • An individual misunderstood in a moment where clarity mattered most

And I’ve also seen the opposite.

The moment when a simple communication support is available and everything changes.

A child points to “help.”
A person expresses a need.
A moment of frustration becomes a moment of connection.

That is the power of accessible communication.

What We Do

We provide AAC consultation focused on real-world communication access, not just in therapy settings, but in the environments where people live, travel, and interact.

This includes:

  • Airports

  • Museums

  • Public spaces

  • Community environments

  • Organizations and institutions

We help implement simple, effective communication supports that allow individuals to:

  • Express needs

  • Ask for help

  • Navigate environments

  • Participate more fully

What This Looks Like

AAC consultation may include:

  • Development of custom communication plans tailored to your environment

  • Vocabulary selection based on real-world use (not generic templates)

  • Integration into existing workflows (staff, volunteers, public-facing roles)

  • Guidance on usability in high-stress, high-traffic environments

  • Optional visual supports or QR-based guidance to increase accessibility

  • Collaboration with vendors and manufacturers to ensure the final product aligns with your environment, durability needs, and overall goals

The goal is not to add complexity.

The goal is to create something that is:

  • Immediate

  • Intuitive

  • Human-centered

Why This Matters

Communication is not a luxury.
It is a basic human need.

When communication is not accessible:

  • Individuals are left out

  • Needs go unmet

  • Frustration increases

  • Risk increases

When communication is accessible:

  • People feel safe

  • Interactions improve

  • Inclusion becomes real—not just stated

Our Approach

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions.

Every environment is different.
Every interaction is different.
Every person is different.

Our role is to:

  • Understand how communication actually breaks down in your space

  • Design supports that work in real life

  • Help you implement something that is sustainable and meaningful

A Simple Shift—A Meaningful Impact

Sometimes the difference between:

  • confusion and clarity

  • isolation and inclusion

  • escalation and resolution

is something as simple as having a way to communicate.

Let’s Create More Accessible Spaces Together

If you’re interested in improving communication access within your environment, we would love to connect.

Whether you’re exploring a small pilot or a larger initiative, we can build something that supports real people in real moments.
